Department at a Glance

Established in 2007, the Department of Education enjoys a special privilege as well as a sense of responsibility

     In recent times, teacher education has been looked at as one of the most important areas of thrust, worldwide. With this awareness, the department aims at imparting latest and best education to the students. Accordingly, the syllabi of all the courses are designed to keep pace with the latest trends in education.  We are aiming to make the department as one of the most advanced and fully equipped research centre in the region. Therefore, research is another matter of priority. The Department has academically rich and experienced faculty members and is providing departmental library and free internet facility for students along with other facilities. At present, the department offers Ph.D., Integrated M.Phil./Ph.D. (with exit option after completion of M.Phil.), M.Ed., and B.Ed. programmes. Thirty five and 100 seats are approved by the National Council for Teacher Education for the courses M.Ed. and B.Ed., respectively, whereas, intake in Ph.D. and Int. M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes is determined on the basis of availability of vacant seats. The objective of the department is to create professionally competent researchers, teacher educators, and prospective teachers.
