The Department is being established as a new science department with an objective of providing quality science education in the conventional areas of science. The department in the first phase aims to initiate post graduate and undergraduate programs with adequate infrastructure and aculty. The department already got 06 positions of faculty (1 Professor, 02-Reader and 03 Lecturers approved from UGC that are expected to be filled before the commencement of this session. Similarly, adequate funds are already sanctioned for developing PG and UG laboratories, building and other infrastructure. The Undergraduate program is designed so as to provide exit point after B.Sc (hon.) degree and also integrate it with P.G. program making it M.Sc (Integrated) program. The course structure and content delivery modes will have enough opportunities for interactive learning and exposure towards research. Many innovative teaching practices are the highlights of the program.
