DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINNERING

                                    Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in Institute of Technology in the year 2006 after getting approval from AICTE for intake of 60 seats. His Excellency Shri K .M.Seth the then Governor and Chancellor inaugurated this Department on 26th July 2006 .The department offers B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) and M.Tech. (Machine Design) programmes with intake of 75 and 23 respectively. The department puts lots of emphasis on such training of students as can bring out their inner capabilities and lead to their full growth and development. Enough emphasis has put on their hands-in training for which department has well-equipped laboratories, theory of machines, strength of materials, heat & mass transfer, refrigeration and air conditioning and central workshop. In M.Tech. programme the students are admitted based on their GATE scores. The department offers Ph.D. program also in different streams of Mechanical Engineering like Thermal and Fluids Engineering, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, etc. Our alumni are working at high positions in central government, state governments, public and private sectors all over the nation and abroad. Our graduated students from B.Tech. and M.Tech. programmes are taking admissions for their higher studies in IITs, NITs and reputed foreign institutions. PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)

PEO1:  Graduates shall be equipped with fundamental knowledge of basic, applied and engineering science and technology with problem-solving skills for the wholesome development of the society

PEO2:  Graduates will attain professional and ethical attitude, team-work spirit with effective communication and leadership skills to contribute to the needs of academia, industry, government and the society.

PEO3:  Graduates will be conversant with necessary entrepreneurial and innovation skills to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry and society.

PEO4: Graduates will be equipped with self-learning and self-discerning abilities for professional career path, higher studies or entrepreneurial endeavors to meet challenges.

PSO1

Mechanical Engineering graduate will be able to understand, apply and provide cost-effective and sustainable solutions to complex engineering problems from domains of design, fluid and thermal, materials and manufacturing, automation and management science.

PSO2

Mechanical Engineering graduate shall be able to exhibit ethical and professional skills through individual or team-work and effective communication in providing solutions by using conventional or innovative, modern analytical and computational tools.
