About Department of Mechanical Engineering

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINNERING

                                    Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in Institute of Technology in the year 2006 after getting approval from AICTE for intake of 60 seats. His Excellency Shri K .M.Seth the then Governor and Chancellor inaugurated this Department on 26th July 2006 .The department offers B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) and M.Tech. (Machine Design) programmes with intake of 75 and 23 respectively. The department puts lots of emphasis on such training of students as can bring out their inner capabilities and lead to their full growth and development. Enough emphasis has put on their hands-in training for which department has well-equipped laboratories, theory of machines, strength of materials, heat & mass transfer, refrigeration and air conditioning and central workshop. In M.Tech. programme the students are admitted based on their GATE scores. The department offers Ph.D. program also in different streams of Mechanical Engineering like Thermal and Fluids Engineering, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering, etc. Our alumni are working at high positions in central government, state governments, public and private sectors all over the nation and abroad. Our graduated students from B.Tech. and M.Tech. programmes are taking admissions for their higher studies in IITs, NITs and reputed foreign institutions. The vision and mission of the department of Mechanical Engineering are stated below:-

To minimize the gap between technological developments with reference to teaching methodologies being adopted as per the future needs of the industry and society.

To be a Centre of Excellence in the field of Mechanical Engineering so as to generate quality human resource who can contribute constructively to the technological and socio-economic development of the nation.

MISSION

To supply globally competent Mechanical Engineers with the efforts of experienced and committed faculty.

To nurture graduates with scientific temperament, rational thinking and humanistic approach for excelling their career.

OBJECTIVES

To produce Mechanical Engineering graduates who are updated with the latest theoretical and experimental knowledge and are ready to take up challenging jobs in government departments, public sector and industrial organizations.

To strengthen and expand collaboration and partnerships with industry and other organizations.
