Brief Introduction of Programme
The BSc Computer Science under Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya’s Apprenticeship-Based Degree Programme (ABDP) blends academic learning with practical
industry exposure, preparing students for dynamic careers in Computer Science. Aligned with NEP 2020,
this four-year program covers key areas like Software Design, Data Science, Cyber
Security, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Engineering and Machine Learning, while integrating hands-on apprenticeship
training. This dual approach ensures students develop job-ready skills, enhancing their employability in sectors like Software / ITes Industry, Govt.
Sector, PSUs, e-commerce company, banking, education technology, supply chain
management, and other allied sectors.
Graduates emerge as industry-ready professionals with a strong foundation in
both theory and real-world emerging information technology practices.
The Department of Computer Science & Information
Technology is proposing to announce the commencement of a new 4-Year
Undergraduate Degree Programme — B.Sc. (Computer Science), Apprenticeship Based
Degree Programme (B.Sc.-CS, ABDP) from the Academic Session 2025–26.
Applications for admission to this course are currently open. A total of 40
seats is proposed under this admission category. This will be direct
admission on merit basis. No CUET score is required.
Under this NEP-based programme, students will have the
opportunity to undergo apprenticeship training in Industry for a maximum
period of 2 years, while devoting max 2 years for academic learning in
the institution. This innovative model provides students the opportunity to
“earn while learn”, equipping them with both academic knowledge and real
industry exposure.
