About Department of Education


Established in 2007, the Department of Education enjoys a special privilege as well as sense of responsibility.

There is a famous proverb, viz., child is the father of nation. It is believed that if the child is best trained and brought up, the nation would automatically rise. In the childhood mother is the best teacher. Thereafter, usually it is the responsibility of the teacher, and for training a teacher, the contribution of the education department is utmost. The Department of Education is committed to bring out the best potentials of its students to develop them as empowered and envisioned leaders of Indian Education. The Department possesses a team of able and sensitive teachers striving to promote among the prospective teachers and the teacher educators � a high standard of knowledge, professional skills, cultural understanding, social responsibility and synergistic progress within a truly multicultural educational environment.

The Department is known for its discipline and student-friendly environment providing excellent technological facilities, quality knowledge resources (internet facilities, regular seminars, workshops, community programmes and other co-curricular experiences) and potent research experiences.

The department offers a degree in B.Ed. , M.Ed. & B.Ed. (Sp. Ed). (HI & LD) and Ph.D. programmes. Demonstration lessons, practice teaching and internship programmes are regular features of the curricula of the courses being offered. Extension activities such as community enrichment programmes have been organized to develop awareness about health and education amongst rural people. Cultural activities, games and sports are organized by the students to identify and nurture the talents in the concerned fields. The department provides educational programmes that lead to the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to achieve information literacy, career advancement, personal enrichment, leadership, and service to the community. To ensure quality programme, the department of Education assesses practices, policies, and procedures on an ongoing basis to strengthen the overall effectiveness of curriculum, instructional delivery, and operations.


To realise the human resource potential to its fullest in the Teacher Education with equity and inclusion.


  • To create an ambience to nurture creativity and to foster the learning environment that promotes responsible and principled behaviour amongst prospective teachers and teacher educators from which teachers of tomorrow emerge.
