of Civil Engineering, GGV Bilaspur (C.G.) successfully organized an Industrial
Visit in collaboration with Industry Institute Interface Cell, GGV Bilaspur
(C.G.) for the students of B.Tech. (Civil) 8th semesters on March 6th
2025. The Departmental faculty members- Mr Rochak Pandey, Dr Prakhar Modi,
Dr. Adheesh Kumar Vivek, Ms Ayushi Nayak, Ms Preeti Singh, and office staff Mr.
Hariram Sahu coordinated the visit with the students. The Industrial visit was
held on the Site of Hasdeo Bango Dam. situated at Korba, Chhattisgarh. The
visit started with the overview of the Details of the Dam & Further
Students saw the Operation
Mechanism of this Multipurpose Dam. The Project Engineer explained various aspects of the operation
of the Sluice gates of the Dam & Reading of the Water Levels assisted with
visit of the Drainage Gallery of the Dam. The students also visited the
Hydroelectric Power station of the Dam, where they were introduced with the
overall electricity generation capacity of the plant, No. of Penstocks, No of
Turbines and Generators, their working mechanism and supply circuit plan of the
Plant. Overall this visit helped the students to acquire knowledge about the
construction & the working Mechanism of the Multipurpose Dams.
