As part of the Swachhta Pakhwara,
an initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and hygiene, the Department of
Rural Technology and Social Development at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
actively engaged students in a series of cleaning and awareness activities from
September 1 to September 15, 2024. The event witnessed enthusiastic
participation from faculty members and over 40 students who collaborated to
raise awareness about cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainability in rural areas. On
the inaugural day, students and staff organized a cleanliness drive within the
university campus. The initiative focused on cleaning classrooms, common areas,
and pathways. Special attention was given to the proper segregation of waste,
promoting recycling, and educating students about the harmful effects of
plastic pollution.

with an oath-taking ceremony. The event was organized to inspire students to
commit themselves to the mission of cleanliness and hygiene in alignment with
the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The ceremony was attended by over
40 students, along with faculty members and staff led the oath, where students
pledged to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, spread awareness about
hygiene, and actively participate in cleaning drives within the university and
in rural communities.
