Vision
Motivated by the thoughts and teachings of Guru Ghasidas, a great Satnami Saint of the 18th Century, Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur CG is committed to social empowerment, particularly of the weaker sections of society, with the help of quality higher education and training.
The focus of the University is on offering and strengthening innovative academic programs in emerging interdisciplinary areas of Science, Social Sciences, and Humanities with quality assurance so as to contribute to the growth of the knowledge base of the university in particular and academia in general. The University aims to provide value-based holistic education which will lead to the growth and development of a community better equipped to serve mankind.
Mission
1. Providing greater access to inclusive quality higher education to all, in particular to the socially and educationally underprivileged students.
2. Promoting academic excellence through state-of-the-art Undergraduate, Post Graduate, and Doctoral programs.
3. Offering equitable quality educational programs catering to the current and future needs of society, the region, and industry.
4. Promoting innovation in teaching, learning, research, extension work, and consultancy services.
5. Extensive use of technology-enabled learning, especially blended mode learning using ICT for academic, administrative, financial, examination, evaluation, and student support systems of the University.
6. Making students serve humanity through the creation of well-rounded, multi-skilled, and socially responsible global citizens in a multidisciplinary ecosystem.
7. Inculcating entrepreneurship, life skills, communication, and 21st-century skills among learners for holistic evolution.
8. Increasing efficiency, transparency, and accountability in governance in a learner-centric environment focusing on societal engagement and national development.
9. Working in collaboration with National and International Institutions/Universities/Industries to enhance academic, professional, and research capacity.
Objectives
The objectives of the university are:
- • To disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit;
- • To make special provisions for integrated courses in Humanities, Social Sciences, Science & Technology in its educational programs;
- • To take appropriate measures for promoting innovations in teaching-learning processes and interdisciplinary studies and research;
- • To educate and train manpower for the development of the country;
- • To establish linkages with industries for the promotion of science and technology; and
- • To pay special attention to the improvement of the social and economic conditions and welfare of the people, their intellectual, academic, and cultural development.
